4 global companies cease cooperation with BelAZ and BMZ

The Professional Union of Belarusians in Britain (PUBB) informs that 4 groups of companies have ceased cooperation with the Belarusian Automobile Plant (BelAZ) and the Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ). The reason was the EU sanctions imposed on Belarus.

The German Becker Group, which supplied industrial paints and other products through its distributor Geramatic OY, said: “Following the imposition of EU sanctions against BelAZ, Beckers Group, starting from July 9, 2021, has ceased all operations with BelAZ and any entities owned or controlled by BelAZ”.

Danish group Danfoss said it “has stopped business relations that do not comply with the specified sanctions rules”. Another German company, Liebherr, which previously supplied gear shapers and other equipment to BelAZ, also confirmed that its “policy (was) to comply with applicable rules and regulations”.

Also, the Japanese group Yokohama has paused long-term relations with the Belarusian Steel Works in Zhlobin from which the eminent company purchased steel cord.
