1 MAY RALLY OF INDEPENDENT TRADE UNIOPNS IN MINSK

Rally of independent unions was held May 1 at Bangalore Square in Minsk to mark International Solidarity Day of workers and was attended by more than 200 activists. The rally was organized by of activists of the of electronics industry workers’ union (REP), which has succeeded to get permission from the city authorities. The activists from Belarusian Independent Union (BNP), Free Metalworkers’ Union (SPM) and Belarusian Free Trade Union (SPB) from all over Belarus have come to support their colleagues. Two resolutions were adopted by the rally participants calling on to stop violations of workers and trade union rights and to prevent the decline of living standards of the citizens of Belarus.
