FREE METALWORKERS' UNION PROTESTS AGAINST DETENTION OF VALERY RYBCHENKO
PROTEST
Our friend and member of the Free Metalworkers’ Union Valery Rybchenko unfairly unlawfully was put behind the bars. Local authorities using brutal repressions and persecutions are trying to silence those union activists who protest and raise their voices against mismanagement of the country’s economy, low wages and pensions, price increase, sharp decline of living standards that hurt all citizens but not high-ranking state officials.
The regime hopes that the repressions will intimidate people and will make them keep silence. The regime is a bankrupt and tries to shift its responsibility for economic and financial collapse, catastrophic errors and unprofessional performance on to the shoulders of workers worsening their social standards and cutting costs for social needs.
This is what really Valery Rybchenko and our other colleagues were protesting against.
We, representatives of independent trade union movement, protest against detention of Valery Rybchenko and demand his immediate release from jail!
We address the international trade union organizations to support our protest.
We express our solidarity with Valery and believe in his courage and firmness.
Valerie, HOLD TIGHT! WE ARE WITH YOU!
Signed by Members of the Free Metalworkers’ Union:
Alexander Bukhvostov, Vladimir Drugakov, Nicholas Galko, Alexander Evdokimchik, Vladimir Lozovsky, Galina Lisitsyn, Yury Doroshenko, Anatoly Ignatiev, Vladimir Sekerko Marina Smyaglikova and others.
