Belarussian Congress of Democratic Trade Unions organizes protest actions
On the 7th of September meeting BCDTU Executive committee gave support to Belaruskalii Independent Union of Miners’ initiative of conducting protest action on the 2nd of October 2007 in Soligorsk in connection with adoption of law on professional pensionary insurance. BCDTU leading structure decided to carry out similar protest actions in all Belarussian cities in which independent trade unions are active before autumn session of the House of Representatives starts. It is supposed that people will protest against adoption of the discrimination law on professional pensionary insurance and against cancellation of social benefits for underprivileged people as well.
Apart from that, BCDTU Executive Committee members decided to address the leaders of their primary union organizations to send protest letters in connection with mentioned issues to parliament deputies representing their regions.
On the 2nd of October as the first day of autumn session of the House of Representatives BCDTU representatives from all the regions of intend to gather together alongside Parliament building in Minsk. This action will sound as final chord of national trade union center’s protest actions against discriminating law on professional pensionary insurance and cancellation of social benefits.
