BKDP will have one seat in the executive body of a new International Trade Union Organization
The Chairman of the BKDP Alexander Yaroshuk participated in the 20th regular Convention of the Polish union “Solidarnosc” that took place September 28-30 in the town of Shchetsin (). There were more than 100 foreign delegations present at the Convention representing national trade union centers affiliated to the International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) and the World Confederation of Labor (WCL). The Polish President Lekh Kachinski attended the event. He himself was among the first activists who created the union.
The members of the legendary union have reelected the current acting leader Yanush Sniadek on a new term.
During his stay at the Convention the BKDP leader Alexander Yaroshuk had preliminary talks that concern the signing of the cooperation agreements with Self-Governed Independent Union “Solidarnosc” of , Federation of Independent Unions of Russia (FNPR) and the All-Russia Confederation of Labor (VKT).
The invited representatives of the trade unions from Central and Eastern Europe discussed the composition of the executive bodies of a new World Union which will be set up at the beginning of November this year by way of merger of two largest International Unions – ICFTU and WCL.
A new organization will be named as International Confederation of Trade Unions (ICTU). The representatives of the national centers of the region unanimously supported the proposal of delegating BKDP leader into the Executive Council of the future International Confederation of Trade Unions (ICTU).
