IndustriALL General Secretary speaks to Minister of Labor

IndustriALL General Secretary Walter Sanchez has sent a letter to Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Irina Kostevich. In it, he urges the government to comply with the recommendations of the International Labor Organization, “to refrain from arrest, detention or use of violence, intimidation or harassment, including prosecution, of leaders and members of trade unions for conducting legitimate trade union activities.”

The reason for the appeal was the recent search and detention of trade union activists of the Belarusian Independent Trade Union.
