Lithuania bans transportation of spare parts for BelAZ to Chile

Lithuanian customs did not allow 18 containers with spare parts for BelAZ dump trucks to be transported through the Klaipeda seaport.

The manufacturer tried to send them through Lithuania to Chile, but the customs stopped this attempt due to the fact that BelAZ was included in the 4th package of EU sanctions.

“We continue to apply the sanctions imposed by the European Union against Belarusian companies,” the Lithuanian customs informs. “BelAZ’s cargo was not allowed to be transported through the Klaipeda seaport”.

“The Belarusian company tried to export to Chile 18 containers with four spare parts for BelAZ dump trucks,” the message says. “These dump trucks, which are widely used in the mining industry, can also be adapted for other purposes”.

“At present, an investigation is underway, and the issue of the cargo’s further fate will be decided”, the Lithuanian customs added. “The Belarusian car manufacturer BelAZ was included in the fourth package of EU sanctions against Belarus in June this year”.
