Minimum wage in Belarus to rise to BYN 457 from January 1

    According to the statement published on the National Legal Internet Portal, from January 1, 2022, the monthly minimum wage in Belarus will amount to BYN 457.

    This decision is enshrined in Resolution of the Council of Ministers No. 721 dated December 14, 2021.

    Currently, the “minimum wage” amounts to BYN 418.14; thus, it will increase by 9.3%.

    The monthly minimum wage is set annually on January 1. Besides, during the year it is subject to indexation taking into account inflation. So, from January 1, 2021, the minimum wage was set at the rate of BYN 400. In September it was indexed to BYN 417.86, and in October – to BYN 418.14.

    The minimum wage is the state minimum social standard which shall be applied by the employer as the lower limit of wages.
