Two participants of the strike at Grodno Azot detained in Grodno

The third participant, Sergei Shelest, managed to escape from Belarus.

Over the weekend, unknown persons in masks arrested two participants of the strike at Grodno Azot : Andrei Pogerilo and Vladimir Zhuravko, both of whom were placed into the temporary detention facility in Grodno.

All three worked in one of the main workshops of the plant – Ammonia-3, they were not afraid to publicly protest against the ruling government.

Andrei Pogerilo and Sergei Shelest hung out the national flag of Belarus on a television tower in Grodno, for which they were detained and served a 10-day term of imprisonment each.

The reasons for the detention of the strike participants are being investigated.
