Weak nitric acid units stopped at Grodno Azot

Weak nitric acid units in the nitric acid and urea-ammonia mixture workshop are being prepared for start-up after the shutdown, Grodnensky Khimik reported on Sunday.

“In connection with a breakdown in the power supply circuit (feed water pump), two weak nitric acid units in the nitric acid and urea-ammonia mixture workshop stopped. After the malfunction was eliminated, the units are being prepared for start-up. No damage to the process equipment of the units during the shutdown or nitrogen oxide emissions and acid spills were recorded”, – says the message.

It emphasizes that, according to the results of air monitoring, no excess of the established standards was detected on the territory of the workshop and in the sanitary protection zone of the enterprise.
